Free Your Box, LLC ("FYB," "we," "us," or "our") is a Delaware limited liability company with its principal place of business in Massachusetts. This policy explains how we handle personal information through our website, newsletter sign-up, contact forms, and media-submission form.
Information we collect
Information you provide. Your name, email address, phone number, messages, newsletter sign-up information, story, and any photos or videos you choose to upload.
Website information. Our website and service providers may collect IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, timestamps, cookies, and similar technical or security information.
Photos, videos, and stories may contain personal information about you or other people. Please submit only material you are comfortable sharing and are authorized to provide.
How we use information
Operate the website. Provide, maintain, analyze, improve, and secure our website and forms; respond to messages; prevent misuse; and comply with law.
Media submissions. Store, review, organize, and evaluate submissions for possible future episodes or related FYB content; contact contributors; confirm permissions; and prepare proposed edits or production treatments under the Media Submission Terms.
Newsletter. Send newsletters only if you separately subscribe. A media submission does not subscribe you to the newsletter, and every marketing email will include an unsubscribe option.
No AI training. We do not use media submissions to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models. Service providers may process submissions only to provide functions such as hosting, security, transcription, captioning, or editing for FYB, and not to train their models.
When we share information
We may share information with vendors that operate our website, forms, storage, email, security, or production services; with professional advisers; when required by law or needed to protect rights and safety; or as part of a business transaction. If we select a submission, we may also share it with production, distribution, podcast, social-media, advertising, press, and promotional partners as allowed by the Media Submission Terms.
We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies and third-party platforms
We may use necessary cookies and basic analytics to operate forms, understand site use, and maintain security. We do not respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" settings because we do not track users across unrelated websites for targeted advertising. Podcast, video, social-media, payment, and other third-party platforms follow their own privacy policies.
Retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for review, communication, production, permissions, publication, security, legal obligations, and business records. Selected content and its permission records may be kept while the content remains in use or archived. We use reasonable safeguards, but no website or storage system is completely secure. Do not upload passwords, financial details, government identification numbers, medical records, or other unnecessary highly sensitive information.
Your choices and rights
You may unsubscribe from newsletters at any time. Depending on applicable law, you may also request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information, or appeal a decision about your request. A privacy request may not require FYB to remove content already published under a valid media release or delete records we are legally permitted to retain.
Children, changes, and contact
Our media-submission form is for adults 18 or older. If submitted material identifies a minor, the adult submitting it must have authority to share it, and we may require a parent or guardian release before use. Our services are not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy by posting a revised version with a new effective date.
